Modern Slavery Statement
Our commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking, aligned with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
This statement is made pursuant to section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. Although TekSpert Ltd is not currently required to publish a statement under the Act (as our turnover is below the GBP 36 million threshold), we choose to do so voluntarily as a demonstration of our commitment to ethical business practices.
1. Introduction
TekSpert Ltd ("the Company") is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all its forms. We have zero tolerance for slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our business or supply chains.
2. Organisation Structure
TekSpert Ltd is a technology company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 16711813) that develops and operates the Pubs Management platform, a software-as-a-service product serving the UK hospitality sector.
Our operations are primarily UK-based. Our workforce consists of employees and contractors working in software development, customer support, and business operations.
3. Our Policies
We have the following policies in place that contribute to ensuring modern slavery does not occur in our business:
- Recruitment Policy: We verify the identity and right to work of all employees and contractors. We do not use agencies that do not comply with applicable employment law.
- Whistleblowing Policy: We encourage all workers, customers, and suppliers to report concerns about any aspect of our business, including concerns related to modern slavery, without fear of retaliation.
- Code of Conduct: Our code of conduct sets out the actions and behaviour expected of our employees and contractors.
4. Due Diligence
As part of our due diligence processes to identify and mitigate risk, we:
- Assess the risk of modern slavery in our supply chain, with particular focus on any service providers or subcontractors
- Require key suppliers to confirm their compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015
- Review our supply chain periodically to identify any areas of concern
- Maintain records of all workers, including contractors, to ensure compliance with employment and immigration law
5. Risk Assessment
We assess the following areas as carrying potential risk:
Supply Chain: Our supply chain is primarily digital (cloud infrastructure, software services). We assess the risk of modern slavery in this area as low but not negligible. We require our key infrastructure providers to maintain their own modern slavery statements.
Workforce: As a UK-based technology company, we assess the risk of modern slavery in our direct workforce as low. All employees receive contracts compliant with UK employment law, are paid at least the National Living Wage, and work reasonable hours.
6. Training
We provide awareness training to relevant members of staff to ensure they understand the signs of modern slavery and know how to report concerns. Our senior leadership team is briefed on the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act and the Company's obligations.
7. Measuring Effectiveness
We use the following key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of our measures:
- Number of reports of modern slavery concerns received (target: zero, with all reports investigated)
- Percentage of key suppliers with modern slavery statements or equivalent commitments
- Completion rate of staff awareness training
- Annual review and update of this statement
8. Approval
This statement has been approved by the directors of TekSpert Ltd and will be reviewed and updated annually.
